Betting Clerk Duties and Responsibilities:

Are you ready to become a Purple Star and take on the role of a Betting Clerk in KwaZulu-Natal? Your responsibilities will include:

Branch Growth:

• Timely updating of betting boards.
• Keeping memos, card changes, results, and scratching’s up to date.
• In-depth knowledge of betting rules, odds, and pay-outs.
• Ensuring compliance with confirmation limits.
• Reporting large bets that don’t require confirmation.

Sales Administration:

• Efficient cash management while minimizing risks, theft, and fraud.
• Vigilance against potential fraud attempts.

Cash Management:

• Starting the shift with the correct float amounts.
• Interim checks during the day in coordination with the team leader.
• Immediate handling of cash shortages, with small shortages paid back on the same day.

Branch Appearance:

• Maintaining a neat and tidy branch.
• Ensuring workstations are well-maintained.
• Compliance with procedures to prevent losses and prompt reporting of problems or malfunctions.

Customer Service:

• Providing exceptional customer service with a friendly, helpful, and courteous approach.
• Addressing customer complaints proactively and positively.
• Building strong relationships with regular customers.
• Cultivating a customer-centric culture and promoting “service with a smile.”

Compliance:

• Strict adherence to the company’s internal control policies.
• Upholding the code of ethics and reporting fraudulent activities.
• Compliance with uniform guidelines.
• No credit bets allowed when in uniform.
• Limited pay-out machines not for use by team members on duty.
